Erica Thum is a freelance photographer based in Washington, DC.

Erica began taking photos manually at age ten before deciding to pursue a career in photography in 2001.

Erica holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism and did freelance work for the Ithaca Times and the Tompkins Weekly before taking a staff photographer postition at the Ithaca Journal, where she worked for two years.

While working at the Ithaca Journal, Erica won two New York State Associated Press Awards for her "Fighting Burkitt's Lymphoma" photo story.

Erica is available for assignments in Washington, DC and the surrounding areas.
