Jade and Freeman participate in High Steppers after school on Monday and Wednesday afternoons if Latrice is able to arrange a ride for them to get to the Boys and Girls Club afterwards. High Steppers is a drill team created with the goal of keeping kids off of the streets after school and helping them to get exercise as well. At High Steppers, drill leader Marissa Rackers, 13, shows Jade and the other kids how the steps should be done.
